9. Contrast

       Personally, I don’t know much about American culture and mentality, so I would compare and contrast  my lovely friends.

       It goes without saying that there are no absolutely similar persons. My best friends are not exceptions. Kate and Alena differ in many ways.

       Speaking about there appearance, I can say that they are both beautiful tall blondes. However, I don’t like comparing people according to their appearance.

       I want to focus on their features of character. They have really different hobbies and style of life.  For instance, Kate is extremely active person, who constantly does something exiting and extraordinary. She has an unusual and striking view on our life. I adore her opinions and reasoning.  As for Alena, she enjoys spending free time at home. She is really very lazy. When I offer her to go for a walk, she often refuses, explaining that she has already washed off a make-up. Such excuse always makes me crazy. Though Alena is clever, she leads such a dull life that she becomes her boring and sad. As the result, depression is her common state.

     What about their hobbies? Kate keens on theater. She has been attending a drama school for about 5 years. To my mind, she is actually talented person. I was really disappointed when she didn’t manage to enter Theatre University. Nevertheless, she continues to go to  drama classes, and I believe that some day her abilities will be highly appreciated. Alena’s hobby is banal. She is just fond of watching TV. I find her a really professional watcher because she spends all her free time watching silly programs, like DOM2. Another Alena’s liking are diets. She knows everything about loss of weight because she thinks that she is fat and try to keep fit. I was trying to make her more enthusiastic but I failed.

    These two persons also differ in the attitude to challenges. Kate is positive person. She is full of energy and suppose that every problem doesn’t occur without any reason. Problems happen in order to temper our character. So, Kate is always ready to face difficulties. I cant say the same about Alena. On the contrary, she tries to avoid problems. Maybe this is the reason why she is so inactive. But when something bad happens, Alena becomes confused because of lack of experience.  Anyway, she has friends who constantly support her.

As you see, they are very different. That is why I love them and value all their  peculiarities and features. They are special for me.
